STFU already!

Some people talk to much. I don`t even want to see those people, I want a firewall to filter what the hell they are talking about. I`m usually patient but I really can`t stand anymore to people who talk bullshit over and over and over and over again! STFU already! >: (“></p>

as suggested check Documentation/networking/vortex.txt of course ; )

Generally the problem is that your host is running on Half-Duplex mode where the others in the same network is running with Full-Duplex mode:

So issue a:

mii-tool -F 10baseT-FD

or

mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD

Depending on your type of connection ; )

As the document says:

As a last resort, you can force the 3c59x driver into full-duplex mode with
         options 3c59x full_duplex=1

Pulling hair…

Yesterday I rode to DC for work. (Some of us call it commute, i call it pleasure :P) When you usually go to DC you look for a parking spot. If you live or work around Golden Triangle you are luckier with a motorcycle. Because there are several motorcycle parking spots around this area. This particular one on Penn avenue between 18th and 19th street NW is always empty. Here is why?!

First of all, although this part of Penn Avenue has almost no rush hour traffic at all after the closure of the part of it behind the white house, there is still a rush hour enforcement. This means at 4 pm you need to take your bike out of that spot, or a $100.00 ticket is waiting for you. Second, and the most stupid reason is that the park meters there are always FAILing. Here is what happened to me yesterday.

I parked my bike on one of these meters. I put a quarter (a quarter = 1 hour parking) meter displayed 1:00, i put another, still 1:00, i said ok a glitch, i put another… Still 1:00……. So I said ok this is broken so i went to the next one. 0:00 is blinking. I put a quarter, bink! FAIL… I`m like… OK… Try the next one. Same story 0:00 .. put a quarter… blink! FAIL. I tried 4 (yes four) consecutive meters… and all of them… 0:00 .. put a quarter.. blink! FAIL… Nice sequence eh?

Now I`m at the 6th meter. I put a quarter, it displays 1:00! GREAT! I put a dime to test it out the first case. (I`m smart!) it displays 1:12. COOL! So i pull my bike from the first spot to this meter. Park, lock the bike, remove gloves, etc… Come back to the meter. Put another quarter… blink! FAIL! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! >: (“> I say f*ck it! I`m leaving my bike here! (Last time i left my bike on a failed meter, they fixed the meter at 3:00 PM and ticketed me at 3:15 PM for $25.00 on an expired meter!!!!) </p>
<p>I go to the office, i open a parking meter service ticket in <a href=DC Service Request Page. Work a bit, go to lunch and check my bike… WTF?! I have 12 mins left on my broken meter for my bike! >: (“> How come?! It started to work suddenly! I say ok, i put a quarter then… blink! FAIL! <img src=

The animal who doesn`t want to be a christian.

Well, this couple don`t want to be a christian couple. They are very happy to be non-christian lions. They even fight for their rights to not to change their religion. The male protects his female by clawing and biting the “converter”. Maybe the guy should have started with sheeps or less ferocious animals… Anyway, read and watch. Remember your mom`s words. Do not play with lions!

Go Vote America!

I`m not a US citizen but i`m living in this country for 5 years. I beg from fellow americans to go and vote today. If you like Bush go vote for him, if you like Kerry go vote for him. But move your body and GO VOTE for somebody. (For Kerry! : D) Anyway. It`s time to vote!

(I also think that Afghanis and Iraqis should vote on this election since the election in the US affects their future too.)

New project on its way

I purchased an old old Toshiba Tecra 500CDT laptop from ebay. (pentium 150, 32 MB RAM, 1.2 GB HDD) It arrived last week. My project is to convert it to a digital picture frame. Here are my goals for the moment.

First I`m thinking to install debian to it. To do this I created boot floppies. I was thinking to boot from those floppies and continue on net installation. But it looks like the floppy is dead. I had a PCMCIA CDRom. But unfortunately the BIOS lets only to boot from FDD or HDD.

The next step will be installing zgv since i`m not planning to install X to the laptop. I hope that the svga device will be enough to display the digital pics.

Also I have a DWL-650 D-Link 802.11b PCMCIA Wireless card. I`m thinking to create an NFS shareon my home network somewhere and upload the pics to that share and of mount it to the laptop and read the pics from that share.

Another cool thing would be a mini info center. A web enabled info box that receives weather, traffic info and maybe some headlines and displays it in between the pics. Like 10 pics, 2 info – 10 pics, 2 info, etc… Wake up, see some loved ones on screen, and weather info, some more loved ones., what is that? Bush not reelected… mmm coool… aaaah mom and dad : ) Aaaah zipiiir. AAaahhh zinoo mini sleepleees… : D Aaaah damn Metro is not working today! >: (“> <img src=

Anyway i`ll let you know step by step ; )
